  1. Who We Are
  • Here at Norseman we are not in the business of collecting personal data in order to sell it on to others. However, in order to fulfil customer orders, or to keep interested customers up to date with what we are up to, we do need to collect some personal information. This document will describe what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we make sure that it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.

 

  1. Google Analytics
  • When somebody visits norsemanfurniture.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to monitor how the website is performing by looking at number of visitors to various parts of the website. This information is processed in a way that does not identify the user. We do not make and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

 This information is passed to us from Etsy in the event of an order from our Etsy Shop. The information is required so that we can fulfil orders through the Etsy platform and discuss exact requirements with the customer. This data is kept on the Etsy platform and is therefore protected by Etsy’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant.
Wave ·       Name

 We use Wave to log our sales transactions for accounting purposes. Etsy transactions are logged as a unique order number with no personal data transferring to this system. Non-Etsy transactions will have personal data stored on Wave. This information is stored in order that we can provide quotations, communicate with customers regarding order requirements, and fulfil customer orders. We also store supplier details on Wave in order to log purchase transactions. This data is kept on the Wave platform and is therefore protected by  Wave’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant.

 We use stripe to take online credit/debit card payments via our invoices. If you choose to pay your invoice by credit card this will be carried out through the stripe platform. Stripe will only take the data needed to fulfil the payment. Payment card details will be taken by Stripe in order to collect payment, however this information is managed through the Stripe platform and is not shared with us. We may take credit card payments over the phone in which case we will enter these details directly in the Stripe platform and will not keep these details anywhere else. This data is kept on the Stripe platform and is therefore protected by Stripe’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant

 We use Paypal to process payment transactions on our web shop, on checkout you will be diverted to the Paypal platform. Any Credit/Debit card details will be entered on the Paypal platform and will not be transferred to us. We can also send invoices through the Paypal platform if requested which will allow you to pay using your Paypal account. Any data you enter on the Paypal platform will be handled in line with their Privacy Policy. This data is kept on the Paypal platform and is therefore protected by Paypal’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant.
Izettle ·       Payment Card details

 We use Izettle to take Point of Sale credit/debit card transactions. All credit/debit card information is processed through the Izettle platform and is not transferred to us. This data is therefore handled in line with Izettle’s privacy policy. Your Email address might be taken in order to send a digital receipt, again this information will be entered on the Izettle platform and will not be transferred anywhere else. This data is kept on the Izettle platform and is therefore protected by Izettle’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant

 We use mailchimp to collect data for our subscriber list. If you opt in to our subscriber list your details will be entered and held on the Mailchimp platform and will therefore be handled in line with their privacy policy. This data is kept on the MailChimp platform and is therefore protected by MailChimp’s privacy policy, which is GDPR compliant.
Royal Mail Name & Address We use Royal Mail to send goods to our customers and therefore need to provide them with this information. This data is protected by Royal Mail’s Privacy Policy, which is GDPR compliant.
Other Courier Service Name & Address On occasion we will use other courier services to deliver goods, and therefore we need to provide them with this data. We will ensure that any courier service used has a GDPR compliant privacy policy.
